Welcome from the Festival President & Dignitaries

John Savage • 2017 Festival President

On behalf of my outstanding team comprised of various committees and numerous volunteers, it is again my distinct pleasure to welcome each and every one of you to the 2017 Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival. Hopefully, this digest will guide you through the scheduled events as well as provide other interesting information. Regardless of whether this is your first time attending the festival, or if this visit has become an annual rite of spring for you, we have been busy preparing an event that we trust will be truly memorable. The reasons for attending are as vast and varied as the visitors themselves. The pancake breakfast is a mandatory stop for many, before exploring the large number of vendors, both indoors and out, who offer a variety of goods including all things maple. The centrally located main stage offers live entertainment and our ever-popular log-sawing and pancake-eating contests. For many, the sugarbush tours are a must, to witness how our golden elixir is processed into products for your consumption. For others, no visit is complete without taking in the midway rides and games. The EMSF is now well into its fifth decade, and we plan to continue to provide a truly enjoyable event for everyone. I look forward to meeting many of you personally, during your visit.

Bill French • Mayor of Springwater

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the 52nd annual Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival in beautiful Springwater Township. Every year this festival brings people from near and far to experience the community, take in the entertainment, shop for unique gifts and treats and taste the best maple syrup this country has to offer. This incredible event wouldn’t be possible without a group of dedicated volunteers who work year round to plan, organize and execute this celebration of nature’s sweetest treat. This event is a wonderful community fundraiser and all of the money raised today will go right back into the community to support not-for-profit organizations and groups in our Township. A special thank you to Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival President, John Savage and Vice-President Dan Clement, and their  team of volunteers who donate their time, energy and talents to seamlessly pull off this event year after year. On behalf of the Township of Springwater Council and staff, we thank you for supporting our community and participating in the Elmvale Maple Syrup Festival. You can watch for Springwater related information on our official Twitter feed – @SpringwaterTWP, Facebook – Township of Springwater or on our website www.springwater.ca. We hope you enjoy your time here today and look forward to welcoming you back in the near future.
